Umut Turan

Project Manager

Umut Turan studied Computer Programming and Technologies at Bilkent University.

She started her career early on during her university years. She supported the preparation of the monthly periodical “Genç Ankara” in 1993. She continued to support magazine preparations during the rest of her student life in Ankara.

Umut had her first job at Merin-NeszCo Advisory Firm as Project Assistant and worked on such projects as analysis of the sales potential of carpets based on attributes and customer perceptions.

She then joined Information Solutions section of Info Holding in Istanbul, working on Sybase database implementation projects. During the following years, Umut coordinated many database projects for major enterprise clients in Turkey.

Umut later joined the Istanbul branch of Protek Bilgisayar Sistemleri A.S., an Ankara-based IT Solutions company as Sales Representative for major customer accounts. During this period, she played pivotal roles in connecting large computer hardware providers like HP, Compaq, and software solution companies like Microsoft to address the explosive growth of database and enterprise software needs of the largest corporations in Türkiye.

Umut lastly worked in the Istanbul office of Data Sistem IT Infrastructure Solutions Company as Sales Project Manager, coordinating large corporate accounts for IT Hardware, Network, and Software solution implementation projects.

During her tenure of IT Sales Projects management, Umut built a strong rapport with major global IT suppliers and the largest enterprises in Türkiye, among which she lists Aselsan A.S., Toprak Holding, Kent Gıda, Turkish Airlines, and Pfizer Türkiye.

After leaving corporate life to move to the USA with her family, Umut focused on her hobby of ceramics. During the period she lived in South Korea, she attended official training programs on ceramic art in Seoul and worked together with prominent artists in South Korea. Her work was displayed at a mixed exhibition at Taksim Art Gallery in Istanbul in 2017. Umut volunteered for teaching ceramics at Seoul Foreign British School and at Bangkok Patana International School in Thailand.

With her coordination skills and background in Project Management, Umut now supports the Advizeum team for client prospection, project development, and coordination.
