Dr. Emin Turan is a Senior Executive in Pharmaceutical and Vaccines Industry, with a broad international and corporate experience spanning over Turkey, USA, South Korea, South-East Asia, Russia, Middle East and Central Asia markets.
A Medical Doctor who further studied Business Management, he has held a broad range of roles in pharmaceutical and vaccines industry, including global corporate functions and country/cluster management for more than 30 years.
He has extensive experience in Market Access, Business Development, Public Policy, Alliance Management, Technology Transfer projects, PPPs, and Joint Ventures; he is a strong advocate on such topics, speaking in many national/international events and in meetings with authorities.
After graduating from the Medical School of Ege University, Emin started his career in Hoechst as Medical Advisor. He later joined Organon initially as a Product Manager and then the National Sales Manager, during which period he also obtained a Business Management degree from the joint Program of Maine University and Marmara University.
He joined Sanofi Pasteur in 1999 as Head of Sales and Marketing for Turkey, holding this position for four years. In 2003, he moved to corporate headquarters in the United States as Influenza Vaccines Global Franchise Leader. In 2007, he was appointed as General Manager of Korea, then moved to Bangkok as Managing Director of Thailand/Myanmar/Laos cluster. In 2014, he moved to Istanbul as Head of Turkey-Eurasia Zone, covering 14 countries with full strategic and operational responsibility on vaccines. From July 2020 to the end of 2024, he worked as General Manager of General Medicines and Country Lead of Sanofi Vietnam.
A science enthusiast, Emin has a particular interest in health literacy and promotes the value of evidence-based medicine in personal and public decision-making on public health-related topics.
Emin has held active roles in associations to advocate the position of the industry for business-conducive and patient-focused policies. He served as the Vice-Chairman of Pharmaceuticals Committee of the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea in 2009-2010. He served two terms as the Chairman of Pharma Group in Vietnam, leading the innovative biopharma industry’s policy efforts in the country for a more conducive ecosystem for the benefit of the patients.
Emin has been honored by a Medal of Merit by the Vietnam Government (decision 889/QD-BHXH, June 18th, 2024) for his contributions to Social Health Security in the country. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Master Entrepreneur Award in 2022 by Enterprise Asia, recognizing his entrepreneurial excellence in the Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, and Biotechnology category.
A prominent voice for vaccine and biopharma localization in emerging markets, Emin is the lead author of the Localization Policies and Technology Transfer Section of the Turkish book on Vaccines “Aşı: Akademik, Endüstriyel ve Resmi Otorite Yönüyle”.
Emin founded Advizeum Lifesciences Limited in December 2024 to offer unique solutions on transformative growth for the business, leaders, and partnerships of Lifesciences companies with a special focus on biopharmaceuticals and vaccines.
